Yolo Rum Summer 2021 Round-Up

Yolo Rum Summer 2021 Charles Johnson Phat Boy Sushi Florida

Recapping the best that Yolo Rum had to offer this summer!

It’s been a big month for Yolo Rum! Our sponsored MMA fighter defended a title, we had exclusive cocktails featured on the menu of a top restaurant, and we continued to rake in awards for our premium Gold and Silver Rums. We even sponsored some concerts and had a blast celebrating National Rum Day. You only live once, and Yolo Rum is busy living by that creed as we continue to build our brand and bring our outstanding spirits to the world! Here are some of what we accomplished in August.

Charles Johnson, MMA Fighter

Yolo Rum is very excited and proud to sponsor a rising champion fighter, Charles Johnson. “Inner-G,” as he is known in the ring, defended his title as LFA Flyweight Champion on August 27th as he continues to dominate his league. Johnson is now shortlisted to the UFC and will soon be competing on a much larger stage. Ranked the number 4 Flyweight fighter in the US, we can’t wait to see what Johnson brings to the world of MMA. Congratulations on your big win Charles!

Phat Boy Sushi, Florida

Yolo partnered with the renowned restaurant Phat Boy Sushi and Kitchen, with three locations in South Florida, to create a selection of delicious cocktails to help beat the summer heat. Paired with some seriously tasty seafood, don’t forget to order a “Hemingway Daiquiri” or a classic Mai Tai made with Yolo Rum. Stop in before 3:00 for their amazing lunch special.

National Rum Day

August 16th was National Rum Day, and Yolo had an excellent turn-out for rum tastings hosted in Colorado and Florida. Argonaut Liquors in Denver, Total Beverage in Thornton, and Big Daddy’s Liquors in Miami showed their love of premium, award-winning rum by showcasing Yolo in the day’s events.

Slightly Stoopid Rum Shack at Red Rocks

If you went to any of the two nights of the Slightly Stoopid, Double on the Rocks concerts, you’ll find the “Yolo Rum Shack” at the venue! We were lucky enough to host VIP parties on both nights to make sure everyone was in a proper Yolo mood backstage. We were serving up custom cocktails to sip while jamming to reggae-rock fusion. We recommend the fruity “Red Eye Rum Punch,” but you can’t go wrong with our simple take on a Moscow Mule, the “Slightly Stormy.” Did someone say Yolo Yummy frozen slushy cocktails!?

San Francisco World Spirits Competition

Finally, on August 28th, Yolo Rum brought home two more awards at the internationally renowned World Spirits Competition. Both Yolo Rum Gold and Yolo Rum Silver claimed the Silver Medal in their categories. The competition was close, but Yolo is now the proud holder of over 30 prestigious medals!

Yolo Rum strives to be a brand built on quality and excitement. As we continue to sponsor events, athletes, musicians, and more, we pledge to always let our namesake lead the way. You only live once, and we can’t wait to see what this life brings!
