2022 has been a wild ride for us all, but one thing that hasn’t wavered is our dedication to crafting the best rum on the planet! This year we’ve had some really great moments and created delicious recipes that you can enjoy with your favorite Yolo Rum. Let’s take a look back at some of the most epic moments of 2022 for Yolo Rum.
Yolo Rum Events
It was a busy summer for Yolo Rum, traveling to events all over Colorado and Florida. First, we attended the Chicken Fight food festival. It was a great event to kick off summer, try some delicious chicken from the best restaurants in Colorado, and we also got to meet some amazing people. We also threw a backstage tasting and VIP party backstage at Fiddlers Green in June with our friends Slightly Stoopid. Then we got to meet some of the most important people in world of tiki at the Hukilau event in Florida. Yolo Ads Distribution Into Missouri and Louisiana
While we were hard at work sharing the rum love in our current markets of Colorado and Florida, we were also able to bring two new states into the fold by expanding the Yolo Rum distribution footprint to include Missouri and Louisiana. This year, we were grateful to welcome new distributor partners Showme Beverages in Missouri and Wines Unlimited Fine Wine and Spirits in Louisiana. With these two new states, Yolo Rum is now available for retail purchase in 5 states and counting. We are excited to continue to introduce Yolo Rum to new consumers in new markets to show them what gluten free and sugar free pure rum should taste like.
Yolo Rum Sponsored UFC fighter Charles Johnson
We are incredibly honored to have partnered with such an amazing person in this past couple of years! Charles “InnerG” Johnson is a flyweight fighter in the UFC and a former LFA champion and he has helped us spread our message of living life YOLO and celebrating each moment like it’s your last. This year, Charles Johnson won his fist UFC event as he continues his ascent to the top of the flyweight rankings. Johnson’s next UFC fight is scheduled for January 14 2023 against challenger Jimmy Flick. Team Yolo will be tuned in to cheer on the Pride of St. Louis as he takes on his next opponent.
Yolo Rum Creates Delicious Cocktail Recipes
In addition to producing world-class rum, we also love sharing delicious recipes so you can make drinks with your favorite spirit! This year we’ve shared plenty of unique cocktail recipes such as a refreshing Mango Daiquiri, an easy Pina Colada and even a sweet Blue Hawaiian. We also shared some tasty holiday cocktails like the Yolo Cranberry Rosemary and tart Pomegranate Smash that are perfect for wintertime celebrations. No matter what type of drink you’re craving, there’s something for everyone!

Fog Cutter Cocktail Recipe
Think of the fog cutter as a refreshing drink for those who prefer their cocktails on the sour side. It’s closer in taste to mules, but with an underlying sweetness from nutty rums that makes this cocktail much more enjoyable than other tiki drinks such as tequila sunrise or pina Coladas when you want something different!
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Yolo Rum Silver
- ½ oz Dry Gin
- ½ oz Orgeat
- 1 oz Brandy
- 1 oz Sherry
- 2 oz lemon juice
- 1 oz orange juice
Istructions:
Combine all ingredients except the sherry into a shaker, and add a scoop of shaved ice. If you do not have shaved ice then crushed ice will do. Vigorously shake till the shaker is ice cold and frosted. Pour the whole shaker into the serving glass. Ice and all. Top with a float of sherry.
