Super Sunday is coming up this weekend and you’re ready to kick back, relax, and enjoy the big game – but what about the food? The snacks you serve can really make or break your party. But why not take it one step further and pair each snack with a delicious rum cocktail? Here are three tasty rum cocktails and creative snack ideas that will have your guests cheering for more!

Spicy Nachos

Spicy Nachos with Cuba Libre (Rum & Coke)

For the spicy nacho fans, try pairing them up with a classic Cuba Libre. This combination of Yolo Rum Silver, cola, lime juice, and bitters is just enough to balance out the heat from the chips. To mix up this drink, simply combine 1 ½ ounces Yolo Rum Silver with 3 ounces of cola in a rocks glass over ice. Squeeze in ¼ ounce of fresh lime juice and add 1 dash of Angostura bitters. Give it all a stir and garnish with half a lime wheel before serving.

Cuba Libre (Rum & Coke) Recipe

  • 1 ½ oz Yolo Rum Silver
  • 3 oz cola
  • ¼ ounce lime juice
  • 1 dash of angostura bitters
  • Half a lime wheel for garnish (optional)

Potato Skins with Miami Vice

If you’re looking for something a little sweeter, consider trying a Miami Vice cocktail. The mix of Yolo Silver and Yolo Gold rum gives this fruity drink a perfect sweet and tart flavor that pairs perfectly with crispy potato skins. The Miami Vice is the convergence of a Piña Colada and a Strawberry Daquiri into one amazing cocktail experience. First make the Piña Colada by mixing 2 ounces of Yolo Rum Gold, 2 ounces of coconut cream, and 2 ounces of pineapple juice (or frozen pineapple chunks) in a blender. Pour into a container and set aside. Now make the strawberry daquiri by mixing 2 ounces of Yolo Rum Silver, ¾ ounce fresh lime juice, ¾ ounce simple syrup, and 6 – 8 frozen strawberries. Pour into a container and set aside. Now layer or split the two cocktails (using a spatula or a spoon) into the same glass.

Miami Vice Recipe

  • 2 oz Yolo Rum Gold
  • 2 oz Yolo Rum Silver
  • 2 oz coconut cream
  • 2 oz pineapple juice
  • ¾ oz fresh lime juice
  • ¾ oz simple syrup
  • 6 – 8 strawberries

Fish Tacos with Piña Colada

If you’re looking for something unique, try mixing up some tropical Piña Coladas! These creamy concoctions are made with Yolo Rum Gold, coconut cream and pineapple juice – perfect for those island vibes you want at your Super Bowl party! Pair this sweet concoction with fish tacos or jerk chicken. The spicy and tropical flavors of the tacos or chicken will provide a perfect balance for the creamy coconut taste of the Piña Coladas. To make the Piña Coladas, combine 4 ounces Yolo Gold Rum, 8 ounces of pineapple juice & 8 ounces of coconut cream and ice in a blender and mix until smooth (For best results, skip the ice and use frozen chunks of pineapple instead). For the extra point, garnish each glass rim with shredded coconut flakes before drinking! This recipe should serve a couple of cocktails.

Piña Colada Recipe

  • 4 oz Yolo Rum Gold
  • 8 oz pineapple juice
  • 8 oz coconut cream
  • handful of ice (if you don’t use frozen pineapple)

From traditional favorites to creative new twists on classic cocktails, there’s no shortage of options when it comes to pairing some super snacks with delicious rum drinks. So don’t forget to add these tasty tipples to your next pre-game party – after all, everyone knows that pre-game and halftime calls for great food…and even better drinks!
