Denver International Spirits Competition 2015 poster in ballroomAbout a month ago the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield, Colorado hosted the fourth annual Denver International Spirits Competition.  The event is the premier international spirits competition in the Rockies, and it is the largest competition of its kind in the region.  The Denver International Spirits Competition took place on March 7 – 8, 2015 and centered around a double blind tasting competition conducted and judged by 13 prominent spirits professionals from Colorado as well as other parts of the country.  The competition is organized by Wine Country Network Inc., producers of the highly respected Denver International Wine Competition and the Denver International Beer Competition.
Yolo Rum was very proud to have won best in class for the rum category.  And not only did Yolo Rum win the rum category, but we were one of five spirits, out of over 200 spirits entered in the competition, to win a Double Gold Medal.  It was a very special moment to have been recognized by the judges as such a superior spirit, not just in the rum category, but against the field at large.  Once again a testament to the quality of this fine cane spirit produced by the hand of one of the worlds greatest rum makers, Señor Francisco “Don Pancho” Fernandez.  This excellent result has earned Yolo Rum the opportunity to be featured in the “Pairsine” Chefs and Mixologist Competition to be held in Denver later this year.
